I've had this many times in Portugal.

It is a sirlion steak with parma ham on top with potatoes around it with a gravy like sauce. Would anyone have a recipe for said sauce (its not gravy btw)

Cant find it anywhere on net

Portuguese steak is famous for a sauce made with a shot of strong coffee, amongst other things - did your sauce have a particular flavour?

Herbs and garlic was all i particularly noted in the taste, dunno if it had strong coffee in it!

Bitoque Steak from Tessa Kiros - Piri Piri Starfish

    Steak
    2 x cloves of garllic
    1 bay leaf
    1 tbsp butter
    1 scant tsp sweet paprika
    3 tbsps white wine
    1/8 tsp flour

In a hot pan cook the steak on a very high heat, turn the steak and salt the cooked side. Add bay and garlic, cook until the second side is seared, add the butter and paprika - take the steak out when the butter is golden, add the wine and allow to bubble for a moment before adding the flour. Cook the sauce for a couple of minutes and taste - too thick add a drop of water. Season and serve. Tessa Kiros recommends serving this with a fried egg on top.

Coffee steak from Tessa Kiros - Piri Piri Starfish (for everything you ever wanted to know about Portuguese cooking)

    1 Steak (fillet)
    1 Tbsp butter
    1 tbsp olive oil
    2 bay leaves
    2 garlic cloves
    1 tbsp double cream
    2 tbsp strong coffee

Cook the steak in the butter & oil, turn and season, add garlic and bay, cook to your liking, remove steak and add coffee and cream. Cook for a minute and serve with chips and lots of black pepper.
