Bizarre. Kris is a all-around genius, no doubt, for his early songwriting and (strangely) his acting skills.

But this song is a tired old retread of U2's "In The Name of Love" and Dion's "Abraham, Martin, and John" - and putting "holy men" like Ghandi, King, and JC in the same company as the Kennedys (who were anything but), is just strange.
And a generic country chord-fest as well. Sorry.

Edit: you posted more while I was posting! :)
Second one is even worse...."Let's get a supergroup together and have them do an upbeat version of a great, old, bittersweet song."

The third one, though.....Total Classic, and the words are still 100% applicable today, 45 years later. :)

Here's some good ole tunes, all penned by Kris Kristofferson.

    For the Good Times

    Sunday Morning Comin' Down

    Me and Bobby McGee

    Genius, all right. :)

You seem to prefer his earlier work.I appreciate both his debut rock style music and his later music which was leaned more towards country.
