Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

any reason why WBA have no main sponsor on their jerseys?

strange that they can't find anyone to sponsor them.

credit crunch i guess. quite a few companies have been rethinking the benefit of their sport sponsorships in the past few months.

Nah it's just they couldn't conclude a deal with the company they are looking to work with. It should be done by the end of the month. They have offered to print the sponsors logo for free on any replica kit once the deal is finalised. I think the kit looks fairly nice with no sponsor splashed across the front though..

lol... ...and here's me thinking that WBA of all clubs had followed Barcelona's lead in having no sponsor!

    ... ...

They might not have too many famous faces or house hold names to market, but they are in the most over rated and over hyped league in the world...so yes i would take the gamble on them!

Why would anyone want that done? Football jerseys are much better looking without some company's name across the front.

use your head mate; it's the sponsors who'd want that done. they'll have pushed 'em to do it.

I disagree. I think the Liverpool jersey looks crap without a sponsor. It's far too plain. May as well be a t-shirt.

I'm getting my jersey before the sponsorship is sorted out.

    Looks way better.

Is it brand new or is it retro?

I don't understand how anyone can think a football shirt looks better with a corporate logo on it. But then, hey, if one enjoys being a walking sandwich-board (and best of all paying for the privilege) then fair enough.

Yawn with the walkign sandwich board rubbish, it's part of the jersey.

If I want a plain red T-shirt I'd buy one.

The only script that ever looked good on a footy jersey .... CCCP.

Maybe you're too young to remember what a Liverpool jersey looks like...

The difference between a plain red tee-shirt and a Liverpool jersey is the name of a drink's manufacturer printed across the chest :confused::rolleyes::rolleyes:

But everyone's entitled to their opinion. IMO the Liverpool red jersey looks really classy without the sponsor. A pity they're unable to be puchased that way.

I heard the WBA shirt is selling well, apparently a lot of neutrals are buying the sponsor-less jersey

People moan that the Ireland jersey you buy isnt what the players wear because it has a logo, now people want club jerseys that are different from what the players wear. Make your minds up.

I like the Liverpool jersey the way it is so I buy it, If I didnt like it I wouldnt buy it.

Do you take all labels and identifying makes off all your clothes?

Generally I buy clothing where the manufacturer takes their credit on the inside, not the outside.

I think peoples main problem with the Ireland jersey is that its a big orange ball.

Take it you think we should boycott all international jerseys iswell then? Cos you know, they're just tshirts... Silly argument.

They have no sponsor to begin with. A club jersey with a sponsor removed looks like a club jersey with the sponsor removed, like someone peeled it off.

It's been said by plenty of people on the various Ireland jersey threads that they wont buy it because it's not what the players wear.

    Thats not what I asked.

    Labels on jeans etc? runners?

I don't wear "jeans" "runners" etc

I can see how you are trying to corner me into admitting I am a hypocrite by pointing out I may buy might branded clothes, unfortunately it won't work in this instance.

However that said, I'll emphasise where I take issue is when a jersey bears a corporate logo of a company that had no direct input into the sport items production or is an indicator of the products quality. I can forgive "nike" or "adidas", but "AIG" or "Samsung" on a sports product leaves me scratching my head.

These football jersies are akin to buying a dell computer with "Carlsberg" emblasened all over it or a BMW with "Nescafe" on the doors. It would look ridiculous and tacky. Interesting then that it seems there are many people out there don't seem to mind looking tacky and ridiculous.

    Noticed that myself :)

Any other Irish companies sponsoring in the PL, apart from Kingspan and Boylesports?

I know the sponsors would want the club to do it, that goes without saying, what I meant is why would anyone who bought a shirt without a logo want to go back and have one put on when they're available. The sponsors have no influence over individuals.

For some bizarre reason I prefere the Arsenal jerseys with the 'Fly Emirates' logo on it. Just think it looks better.
