Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Eircom bundles and the social welfare allowance

We are currently getting the social welfare allowance for Eircom line rental...I think it is €42.82 and it also covers some calls up to maybe a €5 (I'm not sure).

I am getting Eircom broadband for €30 a month.

The thing is Eircom have a bundle for €55.99 which breaks down as €25 for the broadband and €30.99 for unlimited national and local calls off peak. Line rental is included

What I'm wondering is whether I could sign up for the bundle, get €42.82 off and thereby get the broadband I am currently paying €30 for, for nearly half price.

Basically what I'm asking is do you still get the allowance for a bundle?

Hi Amirah Icy Groin, As far as i know you can do this. I used to be with eircom for the phone, then i moved over to utv, then i got broadband. Once they started their bundle packages i signed up for that instead as it worked out a hell of a lot cheaper- I pay 23.99 a month for 2 mb broadband and their anytime call package(calls to all ireland and uk landlines-up to 1 hour per call). Sorry, i know you are talking about eircom but i would say they operate the free schemes section the same way.

So are you getting the allowance with utv? If so how much of the €23.99 a month is discounted?

*edit* Oh wait I get it...the €23.99 is the amount you pay after the allowance! Thanks for replying!
