Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know why they changed the name of 'The Premiership' to this.

    I don't like it.

I missed the start, did Darragh Moloney say anything about it?

he just said that the programme has a new name, i can only guess that they got hassle off the FA for using the name, maybe theres a trademark on it or something

I would assume it may have something to do with the league itself not wanting RTE to mislabel the brand. hence they change the outdated Premiership to Premier.

Nothing to do with any of the above. They decided to rebrand it and move time slot due to falling ratings last season is what I heard. ****e name. Now we have MNS and PSS and they still haven't realised no one calls the fecking thing soccer.

This is wrong. The English Premier League was called the Premiership until last season when it was rebranded The Barclays Premier League. RTE applied for and were granted permission to continue calling their highlights programme "The Premiership". This season, however, no such permission was granted and the programme had to be named something else that not had the word "Premiership" but had the word "Premier". The steering group that were dedicated to renaming the programme settled on "Premier Soccer Saturday" over a cup of tea in the canteen. The reason they still call it soccer is because of all the complaints they get from GAA heads expressing their feelings about the use of the word english word "football".
The time slot has changed for the first 2 episodes only to make way for the Olympics.

They should've just called it 'The Premier', I think.
