Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. It's plainly obvious that Hull are going to win by 47 points, with WBA a close second.

I actually do think that Chelsea will win the league this season. Deco being the pivotal cog.. :P

Chelsea still don't have any strikers (fit ones anyways), don't think you can win a league without them. United again for the league.

So u dont want scousers, Mancs or bitter people voting, what u basically shoul;d have said is "Only vote if u think Chelsea will win" ;) Comfort poll ftw!

U have two football related questions but only 1 poll.

Aswell as good backups in Shevchenko and the up and coming Di Santo.. If they buy Robinho, they will have just as good a chance of winning the league as Man Utd.

    hmm that sounds very familiar

this poll shows just how biased people can be as of now 182 people have voted and United, Arsenal & Liverpool have all 50-60 votes while Chelsea have only 12. Chelsea have to be atleast 2nd favourites if not joint favourites

This poll shows more about the people on here posting than it does about an honest opinion based on facts. Thread should have been called who do you think will win the league and not who you HOPE :P

I think there should only be two choices up the top and thats Chelsea and Manchester United. I didn't vote as I cannot decide between the two of them. But Arsenal have very little chance of winning the league and Liverpool are no hopers yet again imo.

For those who think I have something against Arsenal or Liverpool, I will tell you that the person I dislike the most in the premiership is Alex Ferguson closely followed by Christiano Ronaldo and then Roman Abramovich.

Its just than when you look at the squads its clear who the two best are.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

thatd be great, if the team with the best squad won everything....however-that is not, nor has it ever been the case in football.

Chelsea had a stronger squad than Utd last year, and came second, we had a stronger squad than Arsenal imo, and came 4th. Spurs had a stronger squad than Blackburn/Villa etc but finished below them etc etc etc

I genuinely think any of the top 4 can win it.

But Chelsea and Utd are obviously favourites.

United and Chelsea are equiped for the 38 league games, Arsenal and Liverpool are 3-4 quality players off a challenge, it will be the same as last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

I'd bet my left nut its not the same as last year

    Utd
    Chelea
    Arsenal
    Liverpool

I think we are stronger than Arsenal and I think Chelsea are at this point, stronger than yous for a start.

    .

Is that how you think the league will finish up because that is identical to last year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

no, i was reminding you how it finished.

as i said, i dont think it'll finish the same way this year

I think Villa may end up challenging Liverpool for 4th spot, Chelsea looked very good today, I think utd might find things difficult without Ronaldo, as for Arsenal, keeping RVP fit will be critical imo, I don't agree with the poster who said we are 3 or 4 players short I will be interested to see who Arsene signs in the next week.

I never understand why people write off Arsenal. I've no doubt they'll be top of the league for a good portion of the season. If they don't get key injuries, they can easily win it. Wenger is the best manager in the league at getting winning runs going.

For me, United and Chelsea are joint favorites. Arsenal are a very strong candidate who I wouldn't be at all surprised to see win. Liverpool winning would surprise me.

    2008-2009 Premier League winners = Liverpool.................. :)
Then chelsea, arsenal and Blackburn (the new big four)

When is that movie in cinema?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

As always I am a optimist and I believe Arsenal are good enough to win it but that depends on key players staying injury free.

I actually do think Liverpool are overdue a good attempt at the league and they certainly have the firepower to now do it. I like Benitez but I have doubts over his ability to manage for a league win. Chelsea I expect to be in the mix as well but my gut feeling is they will not do it. United look a bit jaded to me and if they don't sign at least one first team quality striker I expect them to lag behind a bit.

    :DLOL love it.

Anyway, I think Man United will collect the trophy again this year. Liverpool, unfortunately do not have what it takes but I did love the way Alonso COMPLETELY changed the game once he came on. Arsenal I feel will be fourth and Chelsea will be touch and go for first but will lose out in the end.

Man U - As much as I hate to say it
    Chelsea
    Liverpool
    Arsenal

From a betting point of view Arsenal are certainly the best value at 5/1, all the talk is about united and chelsea and even Liverpool  so Arsenal have sliiped under the radar like last year, my main concern would be a repeat of last years injury affliction

I think Pats can do it.
And Shels for the first division.
