Wall R Us Unveiling - September 30th, Tavern Carlow

    http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=207979709265619
The Pure Thinking Community Group are excited to invite you to the unveiling of the permanent art installation “WALL R US” on the evening of Friday the 30th of September.

The “WALL R US” project was aimed to encapsulate the importance of our local pubs, as a social; personal and influential setting that defines a piece of our Irish Culture.

The evening will commence with a short film at 6:30 in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, followed but the unveiling of the “Wall R US” art installation on Church Street beside the Castle Tavern at 7:30.

There will be a street party held afterwards with a hefty line up of local bands and soloists to celebrate this important community initiative.

This paramount art piece is the result of the amalgamation of the Pure Thinking Community Group alongside the Carlow local Authorities; The Castle Tavern; Dermot Geoghegan Architecture; TMC Marketing and Graphic Design Artist Louise Fitzgerald.

This lively street celebration is sponsored by the Castle Tavern; Café Formenti, The Golden Grill; Stephen Corry & Joe Flavin Technical Team and Donoghue Marquees.

The success of this project is due to the goodwill and contribution of all of its sponsors within our Carlow Community

79Cortinaz will be playing their first gig since they stopped playing gigs in 2008, at 10.45pm.

    Network for Enterprising Women LinkedIn

It’s always energising to host a successful networking meeting, and the first meeting of County Carlow’s Network for Enterprising Women was no exception. Hosted by Carlow County Enterprise Board on Wednesday 25th Jan Enterprise house provided a beautiful, light space which is very conducive to conversation and networking.

The guest speaker at the first meeting Justin Negri’s workshop on the value of LinkedIn as a Business Marketing tool received great feedback from all participants. Justine is the founder of Sole Careers and demonstrated clearly she understands the importance of implementing effective systems and processes into a business and how important it is to promote yourself effetely via LinkedIn especially during difficult times.

Michael Kelly CEO of County Carlow CEB welcomed the Network stating that “It’s wasn’t such a surprise at how well strangers network, but at how diverse the group was attendees came from the professional, tourism, retail and public sectors and indeed how they find that all important common ground so quickly when at a networking meeting! We in County Carlow Enterprise Board are proud to have been instrumental in offering this platform to the Business Women of County Carlow and I hope to see many business transactions spring from today’s event”.

At the close of the event not to be out done by The Late Late Show the County Carlow’s Network for Enterprising Women gave a gift voucher worth €199 to every woman in the audience Sponsored by Curves Fitness Centre Carlow

The Network will meet at lunch 12.30pm -1.30pm on the last Wednesday of each month in 2012 with the next meeting on the 29th Feb venue to be confirmed .
To receive invitations to future meetings, subscribe to membership of the Network by contacting Jacqui Mc Nabb the Network Co-ordinator via

    Hi Guys

Not sure if anybody knows about this festival happening on 15th & 16th June 2012

    http://www.playtagfestival.com/
The Tag Festival will take place on the Saturday, between 10am and 9:30pm. It will consist of 256 teams - 4 divisions of 64 teams. Each team will play between 3 and 6 games of 16 - 18 minutes.
There will be between 12 and 15 players per team. This will provide between 2880 and 3810 registered players, we are estimating that there will be approximately 3000 players in attendance to break the Guinness World Record of 2610.
Just remember that the Tag is only half the fun - there will also be music, beer tents, activities, entertainment, the Rugby Room showing all of the rugby internationals, family day and much more!!!
