Congrats on the establishment of your new group. Here in Australia the situation is similar in the target clubs, and there are plenty of people who make it needlessly complicated.

As a Lee-Enfield fan, I wish you all the best in your endeavours, and I'll be dropping in to visit & see how you're getting on.

    Cheers,
    Matt

Drop in any time the VCRAI will give you a good Irish Welcome You can shoot the Enfield out to 600 yards or more. Any more U Tube Lee-Enfield Videos underway. The secretary of the VCRAI is a regular poster on this forum and the VCRAI's website. Thanks for the support I think we need it at the moment, the shooting sports here at present are getting a fair old beating by the Anti shooting sports lobby who appear to want only
the criminals left in possession of illegal firearms.

    G'day Sikamick,

I've just checked out your site and am awaiting moderator approval. It's good to see you all getting together to promote and encourage the sport.

As to the AIA rifles, I haven't yet had the chance to shoot one. I've had a good look over the No4 Mk4, and it is a good solid weapon. The action is smooth and I've noticed that they've used the best ideas for practicality in the rifle. A bit rich for my blood, but a very nice weapon in affordable calibres.

    Cheers,
    Matt

Have you taken part in the NSW State Titles. If you have how does the .303 Lee Enfield compete at 300 yards against the likes of the mauser k98 and the swedish mauser 6.5x55.

    G'day Red,

I've never competed at that level. Living halfway between Melbourne and Sydney in a small country town, I don't get down to the city all that often.

I'll find out about the .303 against the K98 and Swede for you.

I have a K98 and it is a nice shooter. Louder than a Lee-Enfield, but almost as fun!

    Cheers,
    Matt

Yes, Well impressed! A forum dedicated to Lee Enfields. I have been looking up the Longbridge No.4 MK1*, Since these are the ones we are coming across at the moment. Very interesting history and such variability in the features of these rifles depending on year of manufacture. 2 groove rifling, three groove rifling and the more common 5 groove.
Looking forward to getting my own soon.
