Do you have flight radar? If you do one of the paid additions allows you to look up the arrivals and departures for a specific airport with up to date landing times.

Either that or download the DAA app for free.

They are fantastic machines, and seeing them land or take off that close - especially the bigger ones is a great kick.

But each to their own, the above could be applied to train spotters too and I don't understand the appeal there ...

but do you guys take note of planes you have seen ect? and track flights, or is it just the joy of seeing them as close as possible?

Runway 28 was in operation this morning when I drove by, the west to east runway, indicating wind from the east. I would imagine it still is in operation but a good website to check details on flights and operational runways is http://notam-ireland.blogspot.ie/?m=1

I know this is a bit late for your query but the EK 777 usually takes off for its return to Dubai about 1350.

The wind is from the West today. You're right it is 28.

Is RWY28 not the East to West RWY with the wind coming from the west?

Yes, apologies, that's what I meant to say, RWY28 is E to W, westerly wind today, the prevailing wind although RWY10 has been in operation for the last couple of days.

Ah yes, before 11am, looks like swing-door in operation. All the US carriers are in. Looks well busy.
