Etihad have a 773 on the way, landing at 5.15, delayed by a few hours, my brother is flying on this one tonight at 8pm and we were wondering what happens with the crew situation?

As in every other flight has been a A332 so far for the past two weeks and it looks as if it went tech today and they switched to a 773 possibly? Will they fly the return crew over in it and have them fly it back tonight at 8.15?

    09-0540 C-40C US Air Force

    US Air Force C-40C
At a stop in Phoenix. This one belongs to Air Force Reserve 932nd Air Wing, Scott AFB. It was only delivered to the Air Force in Dec 2011, making it just a few months old when this shot was taken. Some details from Boeing's web site:
    General Characteristics:
Engines: Two GE CFM 56-7B27 turbofan engines
Thrust: 27,300 pounds static thrust each engine
    Length: 110 feet, 4 inches (33.6 meters)
    Height: 41 feet, 2 inches (12.5 meters)
    Wingspan: 117 feet, 5 inches (35.8 meters)
    Speed: 0.78-.82 Mach cruise
    Ceiling: 41,000 feet (12,727 meters)
    Maximum Takeoff Weight: 171,000 pounds
Range: 4,600 nautical miles unrefueled range (max payload)
Maximum Load: 26 Passengers and 11 Crew
Maximum Fuel Load: 70,000 lbs (9399 USG)
The C-40C is based upon the commercial Boeing 737-700 Business Jet. The aircraft is a variant of the Boeing next generation 737-700, and combines the 737-700 fuselage with the wings and landing gear from the larger and heavier 737-800.

Most likely. Nothing in the works as of now.

There are no spare Airbus in Europe anymore so if a bus goes down it will be replaced by an MD11 or if no available MD a 757 of which both aircraft sit as spares on any given evening in CDG with crews on airport standby.

Problem so far has been when an Airbus goes down that is scheduled to operate into DUB.. Either of the other two Airbus routes get the MD and we get their bus... CDG-MAD CDG-MXP because they have higher payloads on those routes basically

This morning flying extremely low 7 miles NW of Shannon, saw twin engined grey aircraft, possibly Boeing directly overhead, with what looked like a 3 point refuelling nozzle behind and below the tail.
    I guess it's a US military aircraft?

  • Registered Users Posts: 526 ✭✭✭de biz

Yes a Boeing KC135 was initially going for R/W 24 but the preceeding traffic requested 06,due severe weather returns. He orbited NW of the field before going visual then for 06.

It was unusually low, turning and directly overhead so I could see no markings.
    Beautiful to see.
Looked for it on flightradar but it wasn't there.

Finally made it airborne again around 14:40

Could the name of this Stickied thread be changed to "Ireland Airport Spotters"? Theres no dedicated and stickied thread for any other irish airports. Dublin isn't the only airport in the country as I'm sure your aware, interesting things happen at the likes of Cork and Shannon too. Eg in the summer Cork has a weekly charter flight on a Boeing 717 and Shannon has one on an F100.

If that's the case it would need to be "Irish Airport Aircraft Spotters" :)

Well in fairness it was started as a question about Dublin, that has now become a sticky as people report about daily Dublin movements, 90%+ of posts are about Dublin movements alone, suddenly after 118 pages to change it to a generic one to be PC to the other airports is a bit unfair and will water down the benefit of this topic. There are topics for Shannon,Cork,Waterford and Belfast airports but you would probably need to do a good search to find them now.

My vote, leave it the way it is, start another thread with whatever subject title you settle on. If it gets the traffic and support in sure it can be stick'd in time.

Madness to change the name of the thread, all I ever hear in here is Dublin movements and it's by far a big enough airport for it to warrant its very own thread. The other airports can be grouped together in one.

Thats nearly the problem, there is nowhere for people who spot planes in SNN,ORK,NOC,KIR,WAT,CFN etc to post unless they really dig. This is the avaition and aircraft fourm, not the Dublin fourm and considering its stickied (The point of being stickied is due to it being an important thread that may not get enough posts to have it at the top isn't it?) it should really cover a broader area. I find it a little biased imo to have it only as Dublin. Of course the thread started out as Dublin, why should that stop it?
