Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Windows Vista Skype Question

Hi. I recently bought and installed a webcam and headset for my sisters Windows Vista computer. However, the microphone volume is really low and no matter what settings I try on Vista or in Skype itself, I cannot make it any louder. When I make the volume test call, the warning at the bottom tells me that Skype cannot hear my voice. WHen I click on the headset button above that and try to adjust my microphone volume, it is stuck and won't allow me to increase it. I have tried everything suggested on all the forums like change the AGC to 0 in the config.xml file, but that doesn't work. If anybody could help it would be great. Thanks

the sound card may have another program that controls it other than windows, have a look around for something that's made by the sound card manufacturer. Can you post up the machines spec / model, could make it easier to help you.

If it's a desktop, are you using the front or the back sound jacks, it shouldn't matter, but no harm testing the back ones. With newer sound cards, they detect if you're plugged into certain jacks, it may require you to configure or enable that jack. I came across a fidgity laptop before that recognised that a headphone jack was plugged in, but it wouldn't enable it, was just a case of reinstalling the software.

If you have or can borrow another mic to rule out if it's a problem with the one you bought.

right click on the volume button and select recording devices.

find the microphone you are trying to use and set it to default. open its properties page for any further tweaking.

    that is all.
