Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

I had a medical card as i was on job seekers benefit.I signed off the benefit in march but still had the card. Application for its renewal was sent out to me at the end of may. I was was signing back on job seekers benefit so i put that on the renewal form, which i sent at the start of july.

My medical card expired at the end of July (thought it was the end of August), but i still haven't gotten the renewed card or even a rejection letter.

My sister had a medical card for different reasons and she also hasn't gotten her renewed card either.

Sould i ring them or wait?

    thanks

I'm afraid I've no idea but was just wondering are you automatically entitled to a medical card if on job seekers' benefit?

There is generally a 3 month delay in assessing and issuing cards.
If you sent in your renewal at the start of July, phone them up and ask if you've qualified.

As far as I know, unless you are living in the greater Dublin area, you would have to bring the renewal form to your local Community Welfare Officer (CWO) in person. That may be the delay as the local office may have sent the form to the CWO. Another reason is that the issue of the actual card has been contracted out by the HSE, ands there may be problems at that end.
