right a mate of mine is doing a job converting 1 betacam SP tape to dvd. He bought a brand new sony UVW-1400P but he doesnt have any use for it afterwards, would anyone like to buy it (2 hours on it total) ? or does anyone know where he could sell it for a decent price, theres not a mark on the unit and video is perfect

surely would have been cheaper to get a post house/ specialist av/ dvd center to do the transfer rather than buying a deck for 1hours work...

how much did he pay for it...

As for selling it - not really much of a market for sp's nowadays.. you could try gearhouse broadcast, failing that, ebay

still think thats a crazy amount to spend on buying a deck for the sake of a few tapes. cheaper to pay someone to do it or rent a deck from the likes of digirent..

tell him good look in shifting it...

Good god. He spend about 2,300 more than he had to. Oh well, more money than sense, there was obviously a good budget on the job. No chance of selling for anything like he paid unless he gets real lucky.
