Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've been reading on the forum here a bit about a new update coming soon. So when is it due? And what exactly will it be updating etc? Also, theres been talk of installing games on the hard drive, is that going to be a regular thing from now on? Hence having to get a larger hard drive for the 360 being mandatory really...

The big update is happening in the Autumn, Moiph. It'll be October/November. It replaces the current blades system with a completely new interface and will allow games to be installed on your hard drive.

I don't see how it makes it mandatory. You still need to have the disc in the 360 to run the installed game. The only difference is a slight increase in loading times, but I doubt it will have much significance overall.

Yep, you won't be forced to install the games locally.. you can still run them off the discs the old fashioned way. :)

i think the option to install the game on your harddrive is so u can play without the constant hum of the cd drive if its near your tv and its also to reduce loading times i think but im not too sure on the latter part, wont make a differance to me as i dont really notice it

I think the main significance of this is that the machine should theoretically be quieter and give developers a bit more wiggle room to compete with Blu-Ray's capacity. The major issue is that people without Elites will suffer with small 20GB hard disks...

I wouldn't see how. It'll be a bit more inconvenient. There's, what, 11gigs on the 20gig HD that are free? That's 2 full DVDs and a bit of change. Even if it's all uncompressed or what not, chances are you'll only want one game on there at a time. Like I said already, it's more of a convenience to have a 120gig HD, not a necessity. Unless you have the Arcade. Then you're boned.
