Just wondering why both Aer Arran and Ryan air, have stopped flights from Galway and Shannon to Leeds/Bradford airport?

If i want to go i have to treck all the way to Dublin on either trains that are nearly always held up, coaches that are uncomfortable and stuffy, or car that is a harrowing journey and costs a mint in the car park.

These flights were always available, and it is like the west is in isolation now - there is life outside of Dublin - i promise

Presumably because those routes weren't making money!

Galway's a nice place but it's not exactly a vast metropolis. You can't expect it to have the same level of services as a city the size of Dublin.

    Why not try Shannon-Manchester?

Flights six days per week (not Saturdays) with Ryanair.

Manchester Airport to the centre of Leeds is 91km (55 miles) by road or the train takes 1 hr. 18 mins. from the airport's train station.

That compares to a 50 minute bus journey to the centre of Leeds from Leeds-Bradford International Airport.

You can plan your journey from Manchester Airport by car, coach/bus or train using this site:

Modern airlines work of hubs. As Galway is at the edge of the continent, it can only act as a hub for local flights (Cork, Waterford, Dublin). http://www.galwayairport.com/plan_book/Route_Map/30

You can use Aer Arann to Dublin and Ryanair to Doncaster, Manchester or Leeds Bradford. Aer Lingus and Flyglobespan also operate to Manchester.

Alternatively, you can use Aer Arann to Cork and then Leeds Bradford.

I guess we built it and they didn't come.
