    Oh well, team GB loose a medal. Cav and Wiggins just looked so flat -they couldn't make a move it seemed.

    Well done to Argentina though!

    Yeah - wiggins looked fairly tired. Pity for Cav - dropped out of the tour for nothing.

    couldn't see much of it because of jittery RTE connection but I think Cav was ready but Wiggins was just spent after the pursuits

    looks like two more golds in the sprint though

    BBC coverage was brilliant and without spoiling anything, the cycling team is very likeable. It's great to see how successful their team has been thanks to some olympic funding and brilliant sports direction. Apart from population sizes, there is no apparent (to me) genetic/geographical/cultural reason why Irish cyclists couldn't be competitive in this event in the future...

    Also interesting to see the ages of some of these competitors in the Madison...
    is there a 43 year old on the podium?
