    Hi all,

I'm thinking of doing both the above on a home studybasis and just going to revision lectures. Has anyone done this for these subjects and would you recommend for or against doing it? I hear there isn't much explanation required and its just a case of learning a lot?

    Thanks

    Hey,

I did F8 home study in June and my results yesterday was 55%!!!.

This subject is good for home study as there is no workings involved, it's all just theory. Get a BPP homestudy kit and you'll have everything you need, just practice, practice, practice exam questions.

    Good Luck

Are the home study packages expensive?

Did P1 and P3 myself this time round with just a revision course in each. Got both, P1 is fine for home study all theory so exam technique is important, that and knowing the theory!! :D

Hi novovaine, I've done both F8 and P1 by home study. They're fine to do yourself. It's all theory so you just need to learn things off. I think as long as you actually understand the logic behind it you'll be fine. They're both kind of similar and some of the stuff you learn for F8 you'll be able to use in P1 too.

bored and tired, i'm doing F7 by home study this time out. Wouldn't mind comparing notes at some stage.

hi scoot on, id love to compare notes and bounce ideas,

I havent studied in the last 2 years, but i did the pre-conversions of F4-F6 all by home study and passed them first time, I just hope that i can get back into the hang of it again, I cant do lectures or afford bpp support right now, so i guess ill be relying on you guys for some abuse and arse kicking until i get into a routine, :D

looks like we have a study budy party of 3, what ye say we meet up on line once a week/fortnight to give progress report, (that is once we actually start) and bounce ideas/questions off each other as and when needed, and see how we get on

Sounds good to me. Might give me a kick up the arse to actually start!

Its official, i am completely brain dead, i have lost the required brainpower to read, comprehend and focus

Just sat down to start F7 and i got confused on what the conceptual framework is and why we need it. :mad:Thats chapter 1 part 1 the introduction, i have no hope what so ever:( Looks like i am going to be failing my first exams ever,
3 months is definately not long enough to get my brain back into working order and start to remember anything remotely related to accounting thats going to help me understand the text book, never mind pass anything

rant over, how are you guys getting on,

I haven't even started yet. I've a really busy week this week so I'll start next week I think. Don't get too wrapped up in the framework. You'll be fine.
