Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have been living in a friends house alone from August last year, I was basically allowed to stay in the house as a favour and I wasn't paying rent or anything but was paying for all cost upkeeps, because it also wasn't a permanent set-up and I had thought of moving home a couple of times and because we knew he would move back into the house in May this year we didn't change any names on bills and I left my personal bills being sent to my parents house because I'll be moving again soon for college. Does anyone know if a letter from my friend stating that I was in fact living at his house and not residing with my parents be accepted as proof?

Basically I have no documentary evidence that I was living away from my parents even though I was...

All Councils really require you to have some sort of evidence, although some people have had a 'peace commissioner' declare their independence and the Council has taken that. Really, if you have anything at all with your name on it it will help your case, but a utility bill will guarantee your case. Any other route is open to negotiation with the Council/VEC.

Yeah it's annoying now when I think back if I had just changed anything to be sent to me at that address but I thought it easier at the time to just collect post from home the odd time I'd pop in.

Will ring and cross my fingers.

    Thanks.

You should also check with your folks to see if they have been claiming tax relief for you as a dependant while you were living elsewhere.
