Formed in 1990 ‚Gentle Veincut' has played plenty of live-shows all over Europe and has released a handful of records. The latest releases are 'Concrete Landing' (CD) on Whosbrain Records and a split 10inch with the French Freejazz-Combo 'Kandinsky' on Gaffer Records. The music is quite loud and can be described as Noiserock/Postpunk with a slight No Wave influence. Some fanzines draw comparisons to bands like The Jesus Lizard, Shellac or Sonic Youth, but nevertheless it has a style of its own. The best way to enjoy the sound is live in a nice small venue with a decent drink of your choice.

    Aurel

Aurel are a three piece alternative rock Band from Donegal, in the North west of Ireland, with a huge rock sound that can retreat in an instant to the most fragile places. Rooted in the spirit of bands such as The Jesus Lizard, Tool, Neurosis, Therapy?, The Doors, The Pixies & Whipping boy. On May 18th they released their debut album on our own Drive By Banjo record label under the title 'Autumnocturne.
From forming sometime in late 2000, to winning In January 2002 the Budweiser Premier Band Challenge with a unanimous decision to 2002's highly acclaimed debut E.P. Aurel have been consistently developing their sound - Since 2004 Aurel have been held residency at Thomas Dunning's 'Hoot Night'. The lads are launching the as yet untitled Aurel album at the Ballroom, with copies available on the night.

    Sylvan

Sylvan are clumsy drunks who fall around stage making a racket that has been compared to The Ex, Trumans Water and The Jesus Lizard. Their first mini-album
"The Ugly Lemon" was recorded in Electrical Audio with Steve Albini in 2003. This was followed by "My marble eye" in 2005 and they recorded "We are lying to you through song" last year with Mick Roe from Adebisi Shank. We here at Ballroom Towers think this one of the best Irish releases in ages.
Sylvan's live performances are shambolic, energetic and LOUD.

    Dust

"DUST" are an instrumental three-piece band with Karl on guitar, Dave on bass and Adrian on drums.
Despite the fact that two of the band members live on the opposite side of the country to the other, they have managed to create their own slow, heavy, moody sound.
Guitar driven riffs alternate with sustained sounds to create a sense of tension.

Although all three members have been playing for years in a number of bands, this is only the second gig for DUST.
