Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Guys
I want to upgrade from a single cylinder, 4 stroke 125 to a 250. I have a CBF in mind.
My main problem is the 125 is not much use on the open road, fine for urban driving but not long distance.

Would I tire of the CBF after a short time. Would there be not much difference between the 125 and 250. I'd be better of going bigger, 400, 500 or 600, restricted?

I've a cbf250 atm, and i love it. Took it for long enough intercity spins, had no hassle w/ speed, that said, i drive like a girl and have no idea what the top speed on my bike might be, does 120kmph on the motorways fine. Seems to be happiest about 100kmph

Would you have to drop back a gear to keep the speed up?
I have to do that on my current bike - drop back to 4th to keep it at 100kph and it vibrates like a jack hammer. Very uncomfortable!

If you have to drop it down a gear to keep it at it's top speed then you're putting the bike/engine under uneccessary strain.

OP - what kind of distances do you want to travel on the bike?

50 miles round trip on main national roads every day, and longer trips at the weekends.

Without a screen/fairing anything over 60mph will be uncomfortable.

Try to get something above 250, you'll appreciate it on the larger roads and you'll be able to brake and accelerate better.
