    Greetings,

CAn anyone tell me what types of aircraft have Orange lights.

We noticed an Aircraft over the sea front in Bray this evening at 21.35HRS
Coming towards us from the UK.
    With Bruight orange lights.

Then move away over the rising moon.

    Very stange flight pattern.

Most of the aircraft we see usually have white and flashing navigation lights, and this one had neither only the orange lights.

    thanks for your replies

Did it have a red light on the right and green on the left as you were looking at it as it approached you? Just want to rule out a UFO :pac:

Just looking for information on what type of aircraft it could be and why it had such an unusual flight path.

Have been observing aircraft from this exact loaction for the past eight years and have not seen this occurance before.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Greetings,

Large orange navigation lights, no strobe, The lack of strobe lights has me confused.

I thought that all aircraft had some sort of strobe configuration.

    Any thoughts

Generally with any engine running there is always a beacon......hmmm

But no aircraft has orange lights

Unless it was the tail logo light you saw and the aircraft had an orange tail

Otherwise it was our friends alien to this planet

A beacon or anti collision light or lights can fail stuck on.

They were probably landing lights that appeared orange due to athmospheric conditions, dust cloud or whatever. I've seen it myself a few times. It can be quite spooky and is a source of some UFO sighting. You can see a similar effect sometimes on a low moon. A definite orange tinge.

    Yep, it was very spooky.

Flight path seem to show the craft coming from Wales towards Bray.
Then returned to a very high altitude.

Did not notice the craft doing a turning circle.

    just seem to reverse.

Yep very spooky and was witnessed by my wife.

Then again could be all of the above, Faulty lights, cloudy conditions etc.

But normally we do not see Aircraft come toward us from Wales and then return.

But I am sure that there is a explaination for all of this and also that we would not have been the only people to have seen this.
But if they were faulty lights surely that would be of concern.

    Typhoon's/Tornado's on afterburner?

Obviously the Welsh aliens have heard of Bray's reputation ;)

I am not allowed discuss …

Steyr's idea of an afterburner idea has merit. RAF valley is just across the water in Anglesey. Also they test Typhoons out of Warton up and down the Irish sea. Minutes for a fast jet. A climbing fighter on reheat would look just like it was reversing.

    Were the lights close together?
