Anyone got a recommendation for a decent independant with a knowledge of citroen suspensions in dublin? Prefrably northside cor im working over this side at the min and want to drive as little as possible. Its not a major job, from rooting around online it almost definately a small plastic rod that goes between the anti roll bar and the height corrector. When it goes you can select the highest and lowest setthings but not the driving ones. Part costs stg25 frnm a uk dealer and its a small job. Its a vital one too unfortunately

Its pretty easy to do this yourself. All you'll need is a set of ramps or a jack and a set of axle stands. Its pretty easy to get to the height corrector from the rear of the car.

The part would be easy to get through any citroen dealer(tom walsh motors in Baldoyle).

Other than that any mechanic should be able to do it.

I'm having similar problems on my Xantia but I think its the whole height control unit thats knackered

I can recommend Ken Fildes in Clonee, citroen specialist and "old school" honesty

otherwise there's a Citroen main dealer in Lusk, but I think they do all their servicing at a new garage just off the Donabate M1 exit

    Cheers lads
Dropped out to Tom Walsh. The parts guy there didnt know what the part was and couldnt find it with a search. He tried his best in fairness.

Just go home so rang Ken Fildes. He knew wht it was straight away and I'm dropping it in to him tomorrow morning. He reckons €35ish plus vat. Happy days.

Timing belt is next on the list. I'll ge a price when I drop the car in to him tomorrow.

    Cheers again for the help.

Glad to hear your sorted Stekelly. But if you're stuck for someone a bit more local you could try Kevin Barry Motors in Walkinstown - he's an official Citroën service agent (not sales) and probably won't be as expensive as a regular main dealer.

Yeah - the service end of things is located on the old N1 beside Castlerock Motors (Mitsubishi) - I think it's in Turvey Business Park (or something similar).
