Release management tools

Hi,

Just wondering if there are any free/cheap windows programs out there that can control releases of files from one server to another, maybe with a history of files transferred and by who. An approval process would also be nice too.

When i worked in Citigroup someone developed a tool hooked up to Sourcesafe that could copy files to multiple servers only if approved from managers etc.

Wer use TFS for release management as the only people who can do the releases are the product managers.

Might be what you could use

Sorry for the late reply,

We use TFS at the moment for source control but that's it.

Can your product managers control how content is pushed from dev, to qa to staging to live all with TFS ?

Do you know any good online documentation that talks about release management with TFS ?
