Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cadetship applications

    Hi,im considering applying for the cadetship and was just wondering what advice anyone here could give me on it.How many applicatnts get in each year?And how hard are the interview stages or what the exact criteria they are looking for is.I have the bare minimal in regards leaving cert results and have finished a third level college higher national diploma,tho i have no idea if thats will be any use.
    Any and all comments will be greatly appreciated as i really have no idea what to expect bar the stuff on the defence force site.

    Hi Denvy, I've posted the info here before but if your going for the cadetship in 2009 as I might, then I'd suggest you download the Defence Forces annual reports available on military.ie and get reading. By going through the report and finding the statistics you'll be showing an interest rather than being a candidate is just "throwing an application in". By reading the reports you'll also get an update on whats going on in the defence forces.

    Just a hint, the odds are actually worse than kingpin has stated! Trust me on the reading the reports though, lots of useful info in those!
