all this talk of wingers it doesnt help that gerrard and xabi had very poor games.
Im not going to get into a massive debate about it but cm is not gerrards position and it shows.

+1 . In fairness Boro deserved a lot more out of the game. I thought Keane played well. Gerrard was anonymous, apart from the free kick and the goal. Boro did a great job of man-marking Keane.

We really need to get a bit of width into our play, it's too predictable going down the middle all the time.

But ho-hum I don't care 6 outa 6, and against a vastly improved Boro team.

Poor performance in general, no real ideas, same as large chunks of games last season tbh. Typical gerrard blaster to get us out of trouble though even though nearly every other shot/pass of his was off target.

Must do better, but I'll take it

Ronaldo is anything but a hero in these parts at the moment. Harsh on Boro, Pool were so quiet all game.

Gerrard didn't play that badly. He's not a central midfielder anymore. He's a withdrawn striker. He has changed his game into that. How him Keane and Torres are gona link up is yet to be seen, that said, its a tough patch with no Mascherano and they've gotten through it even if they did it at the end of games.

Can't really infer much into how they'll perform for the rest of the season so far.

It was weird that - go a goal down and still punting long balls up the pitch fairly lazily. Then when the crowd finally start shouting they suddenly find another gear - left it a bit close too, might want to sort that out.

has everyone forgotten the first half? Pool were well on top and created a fair bit just missing the final touch. second half boro sat back more and went fully on the counter attack, then we lacked the width to open them up. You would think boro had been well on top judging by comments above.

Theres no point going 2-1 up and leaving time for an equaliser. Rafa has them watchign Sonia O'Sullivan videos so they kno wwhen to kick.:)

Liverpool played better in the first half with nice link up play with Torres & Keane.
Kuyt to take the corners anymore :pac: We had 14 corners in that game and barely threatened their defence, just a waste.

not often you get 'ran ragged' by a team when you have 60% of the ball and they have 40%. total rubbish, boro defended well and scored a good goal from a long way out. They created nothing else. They had 3 shots in the whole game, liverpool had 8.
