Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Windows XP x64 won't boot after update

I've a quad-core machine that I recently moved into the office to help out with some work, and it has these specs:

    Asus M2N32SLI Deluxe motherboard
    Asus-branded 8800 GTX card
    AMD Phenom Quad-core processor
    4GB RAM

All was well until today, when I installed three updates which appeared on Microsoft update. Now, the machine won't boot. It will start up, POST and briefly display the Windows XP screen with the moving bar, but will then quickly flash up a blue screen and reboot.

Any ideas? Or should I just install Vista - I have a copy of it here and it did seem to work OK on it before.

you could try system restore, when it's booting just after post, tap F8, until a menu comes up, first off, try last known good config. if that doesn't work try booting into safe mode and running system restore (bring it back to a day before the updates). Sure let us know if it blue screens when trying to get to safe mode. (system restore can be found under start -> program files -> accessories -> system tools or follow the on screen message that pops up when booting into safe mode)

you can also disable automatic restart (option when pressing F8 on boot), and the blue screen will at least tell you where the fault is coming from.

Thanks, I'll try that on Monday.
