freeware or 30day trial software hard drives check

I've been given a couple of 200gb 3.5 inch disk drives. Apparently one of them not sure which one has some errors or bad sectors. Is there any freeware or 30day trial software I could run on against these drives to check for and fix errors

windows has chkdsk
this will check the drives for errors

also you could try seagate tools to test the drives if they are seagate, maxtor, or western digital drives
