Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Disagree..No.1 should obviously be Edge with the smoke etc..No.2 should be Goldberg...Taker shouldnt be on this list because his entrance is rubbish

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,089 ✭✭✭✭rovert

Where the **** is Steve Austin's music? The glass breaking alone should be at in the top 2.

Hard to agree or disagree... every single one of them has had more than one theme tune...

    * * *

    After
skimming through WWE's article, it seems they are deaf. They picked Kane's second theme (Out of the fire) over his Slow Chemical theme?

Yeah.. I'm sure all 1% of wrestling fans will agree with that.

Then they actually pick "Edge's older themes". Thats right.. not a particular Edge theme, but all of his older ones, which in reality, are nowhere near as good as his current theme.

    I'm not impressed.

My personal top ten themes would be (no particular order. Kane and H would probably be at the top if they were in order though):

Slow Chemical - Kane - Finger Eleven
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=xLrkKW1jcRk

    The Game - Triple H - Motorhead
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=9MUMRIbTlxg

Medal (Revisited) - Kurt Angle - Jim Johnston (His ECW Theme)
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=72bqQRRNwS4&feature=related

Biscuits & Gravy - Jesse And Festus - Jim Johnston
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=ER6THbfVg3Y

    I walk Alone - Batista - Saliva
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1iMuht_Eik

I'm Comin' - MVP - Silkk Tha Shocker
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=TcZ2gMkTzrc

This Fire Burns - CM Punk - Killswitch Engage
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=4g0oyqzAbV4

Diesel Blues - Diesel - Jim Johnston
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=uPRxTufdDrY

It's Conquered (Production Title apparently) - The Rock - Jim Johnston (His "Hollywood" theme)
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=RgkD0KK2rbU&feature=related

Demolition Daze - Demolition - Demolition
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=4aS1Xfb6ckE

There are others i like, too, but these all just come to mind right now.

There are a lot of better themes missing in their list and Rovert is right, having Austin at 16 is a bit of a joke. Top 5 at least. D-X should also be in the top 5. Roddy Piper's music was balls. There's no Tazz, no Kurt, and NO FLAIR???. Space Oddessy is a great song. No Pomp and Circumstance. Just because he did Stephanie doesn't make the song ****e. They have Vince McMahon in there but no Shane Mcmahon. Poor Choice. No Evolution? Would have liked to see Al Snow for comedy value. Rougeau Brothers deserve a place

There are definitely a few notable oversights there.

    Flairs theme for sure.

    Macho Mans too.

    Always liked Brocks theme too.

As much as it kills me to say this but...
Where the f*ck is Bret Hart's theme from 1994-1997? That screeching intro caused a lot more pops than Crippletakers "dong!" in it's day!

    VR!

Not true. Certionly not by repuation or by design: Pop=cresendo= the "dong" in Undertakers music.

    Triple h Mania 22 entrance
    Evolution
    Jeff Hardy
    Ricky Steamboat
    Jake the snake Roberts
    Austin
    Shane o Mac
    Brock Lesnar
Akeem With Slick (for the older guys)

Could there be a chance of some confusion here?

Are they on about WWE Entrance THEMES, or the actual wrestler making theyre way to the ring?

Either way, its obviously the politics within that decided that list.

Ok i apologise i didnt read that fully and it turns out to be the themes... my bad

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,148 ✭✭✭mehfesto2

    Austin for me.
    The glass-break was brilliant.

Infact the Attitude era had some great ones. Thr Rock's as cheesy as it was was brilliant in it's own way. Same with Angle's. And Y2J's old one.

Flair's theme doesn't belogn to WWE, so thats probably why its not there.

This debate will go on for ages, its impossible to try and locate a "Top 10" or even a number one spot when it comes to themes, i think this was a stupid poll thingy by WWE.
To me it makes much more sense to have an entrance ranking in the mix of theme, pyro, the way the wrestler makes his way to/into the ring, what is done in it, how he plays his character with the fans, the whole lot.

THAT would've made for a better top 25!

I agree that it would probably be easier to make a top 25, but it wouldn't be just, as some people's entrances are suited perfectly to them.

For example the way benjamin walks to the ring with his confident kinda hover down the ramp, his great facial expressions, his awesome theme music and great titantron movie.. its all great and perfectly suited. But that would all be instantly over-shadowed by a bit of pyro.

Maybe a top 25 'most entertaining' or 'most elaborate' entrances?

Give me an example of me not letting something go? I admitted that I was wrong to KKV and KKV accepted that, unlike you we've both moved on and let something go. Dont be starting trouble as I will report you. Either back up what you say or GTFO. You are not adding anything to this thread.

A shoot that missed, actually. Anyway he is saying Im the person who doesnt let things go yet he drags up an issue which the other two parties have moved on from. Way to make a case there.

It would be nice if we could go back on topic. I take the list of those themes most identifed with WWE (Wrestling, really.)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 937 ✭✭✭michael.etc...

Okay, to go back on topic- like all of the "lists" that the WWE produce, they really have to be taken with a pinch of salt. I certainly disagree with some of their choices (rock so high? Austin so low?) Comic Book Guy is right though- it's easier to effectively determine an overall entrance, rather than just the song.

    Personally, i'd have

    1.Undertaker
    2. Hogan
    3. Austin.
    4. DX
    5. Ultimate Warrior
    6. Triple H
    7. Macho Man
    8. Shawn Michaels
    9.Papa Shango
    10.Bret Hart

    Or summit like that.

But it is hardly the most recognisable theme in WWE history, is it? The man on the street is hardly going to recognise that and say that is from the wrestling, are they?

Billy Gunn always had some good tunes:

Assman is funny, not sure it should make a top 25 list, his theme as "The One" was very forgettable, although I think he still used it for a while when him and Chuck started so it would have been amusing in that context but I think they'd switched to "You look so good to me" by the time the real funny gay innuendoes started.
But on the subject of Gunn, not sure if the Outlaw's theme been mentioned yet? now that should have made the top 25 - "Oh, you didn’t know?", one of the most recognisable themes of the Attitude era in my view, arguably more so than the Nation's which is included on that list.

Another one that was hilarious, but admittedly wouldn’t be remembered enough to make the top 25 is Christian's from when he split up with Edge - "Christian!". I thought it was good anyway.

And again, not one of the best of all time, but speaking of themes being recognisable in the first few seconds like Austin's glass breaking or Undertaker's bong, you knew Vader's when it hit - "It's time, it's time". Maybe the best thing about his WWE run...

Assman is disturbing - to paraphrase it.
"So many asses, so little time, so many surprises that creep up from behind!"

I still say they missed the boat when they teamed him with Bob Holly a few years back. Butt Plugg would have really gotten over as a team name i reckon! :D

austin only 16 is shocking, most instantly recognisable theme there is imo, and the version with the lyrics (by disturbed) was brilliant too!

and other ones like the outlaws, or even road dogg and k-qwick (was that his name?)

anyone remember DDP's music back in WCW.....smells like teen spirit, now there was an enterence theme....bada bing, bada boom, bada BANG!
