Paid 1500 to be a named driver on my parents' 1.4L when I was 22. Not very good value considering I had showed them proof of having 10 driving lessons and I was restricted to driving 20 miles a week. Got a quote for 1500 on my own car when I was 24, which came down to 750 the next year.

No. It's more to do with my 220bhp car I think

I was paying IR£2200 3rd party on a 1 litre mini when I was 22. It went up to IR£2700 the next year when I upgraded to a massive 1.1 litre Peugeot 206.

Driving a 1.9 when your starting out on a provisional licence is just asking for a large premium

I paid about 1k for a Renault 5 years ago when premiums were far higher than they are now

I was paying IRP£2800 on a new 1.2 clio at 18 with a full licence.

Now paying €500 odd on a 1.8 Xantia. Was paying €600 on a 2.5 Safrane last year.

First car in my own name was a 1.25l fiesta, and I think the premium was about 1700 when I was 22. That was with 1 year named driving experience. Adding me as a named driver to the policy on my mother's super powerful 3 cylinder 1.0 Corsa at 20/21 cost about €1000 for the year at the time.

Was insured as provisional driver at age 21 on 1L Yaris for 900 or so.
Has gone down to around 700 since I got full license.

    Love being a girl.

I paid €600 for a 1.9L diesel Renault Megavan, full license and 1 years named driving experience.

Now I have a 406 coupe, paid around 1200 last year, now Quinn have come to the conclusion that since I now have a 2 years NCB and am 2 years older, I should pay an extra €100 on what I paid last year. Seems that a NCB isn't worthy much when your a reckless male under 25. Even if I still had the megavan insurance on it would be 850, so about a 40% increase with a NCB. Seems logical.
