Choice and Difference of RAM

Well i think im going to be upgrading to vista 64bit soon as the first step in upgrading my system..im looking to get more ram to go alongside this and then later on maybe upgrade my motherboard, graphics and cpu. i was just looking at the speeds of them and im not sure whether to go with 6400 again or go with 8500…

i was just looking at the speeds of them and im not sure whether to go with 6400 again or go with 8500 ram..and was thinking of either picking up 4gb or 8gb of it just to have that extra bit of head room for the future..is there much difference in the different frequencys of ram in game performance etc?

and would 8gb of ram eat up much power?
