I have a 2001 Golf and it seems to be taking in water when it rains.
I was wondering if this would be to do with any drain being blocked on the car?

The water seems to be getting in under the steering wheel, my brother in law had the same problem with a Passat and it turned out to be a blocked drain

    Thanks

Does your car have a sunroof?

Yes it does, do you think this is something to do with it? It is coming in under the steering wheel

haven't heard of it coming in that way but leaks are funny like that.

In my experience golfs/passats leak from the sunroof when the drains are clogged or from the pollen filter.

My old golf's sunroof started leaking because the drains had become blocked. There are 4 drains in the sunroof, one at each corner. They run through pipes to the front of the front door frame and to the rear, under the rear bumper. The front ones on mine were blocked. Find the drains and pour water down them to see if they back up. Do it on dry pavement so you can find the drain outlets. They have a little nipple at the end of the hose, which can be seen when you open the front doors. Most people cut off this nipple as it seems to catch dirt and block. Once I cut the nipple then I ran hot water through the drains to clean them out. I didn't bother cleaning the rear drains.
