havent been upgraded, yet, rang eircom to try and get 3 meg so they would up us to 7.6 who told us our exchange was upgraded onthe 11th and ours hadnt been upgraded because our line cant support 3 meg :/

whats the best course of action from here? im pretty sure we dont wanna pay the full price for our supposed 3 meg now that we cant have it (although i beg to differ)

its a 2.5 year old house 3 minutes walk from our exchange.

according to that link i should be able to get 8MB ****ing eircom,

still dunno when im actually due the upgrade since eircom said the 11th of this month and the BT site says post september

just looking for some advice here, gonna ring em back and see what the story is,
just some information on our line,

were attached to another house so dad thinks we might have trouble since it is a "shared line" im not too sure what that means to be honest, we have a DECT phone and an alarm system connected to the phone line,

my friend who is a few miles out of town has been upgraded to 3meg

should also be noted our pings more a less doubled since last week

some advice here would really be great as id love to know whether to bother ringing them at all and what to tell them if i do
    thanks

thats crazy your setup looks great for at least 5mb but probably 7.6mb, i dunno about the shared line but id try and test it if you can without alarm and dect phone( dunno how as im trying to figure out a test without alarm myself )

That's absolute bull, your attenuation is fine for 3Mb. I've been upgraded to a solid 3Mb and I have attenuation of 52!

Eircom gave us the upgrade today after we called them (supposed to get upgraded on august 9th). Also, my pings increased from the weekend of the 9th too but since this morning when we got upgraded pings are excellent again (10 to boards.ie)

Yeah, you were told a crock if your line "isn't suitable". Your downstream line margin is the highest I've ever seen at 39 dB. That value mightn't be accurate but I think we can safely say it can tolerate 7.6mb:P

What appears to work is to tell them all your neighbours got the upgrade, worked for me and someone else.
