How to thread blind pulleys?

    I bought a bamboo blind today and there was no instructions for how to thread the pulleys. There is one pulley on each side and two lengths of string, each a little longer than the blind itself and with a bead on the end.
    One of the pulleys has a sort of locking device.

    I haven't a bull's notion how to go about threading these.
