I just copped this album & I am seriously impressed!!!

I loved the hell out of 'Waiting For The Punchline', but this is just something else. Methinks this might just get my vote for the best sounding rock album I've heard in the last 3-4 years....

Nuno is still > all imho .........

Is this a new one or something that didn't get released back in the day? I heard they got back together for a few gigs last year, didn't hear anyting about any recording.

This is a brand new album literally a week old. The album you're thinking of is 'Waiting For The Punchliine', which got release in Asia, & in very small amounts elsewhere, which I thought was utterly brilliant.

Nuno is still for me one of the greatest guitar players out there, & it's like they didn't miss a beat.

    Check out www.Extreme-Band.com

They're touring all over Europe starting from next month

No, I got Waiting For The Punchline many years ago ;)

Just the way you mentioned it there, I hadn't heard of anything new coming out so was wondering if it was out-takes or unreleased tracks from that era.

Only one track, which I think was a left over from nuno's schizophrenic is a throwback. Everything else is fresh, new & uber groovy!

    Excellent, I'll pick that up.

wow. just listened to some stuff. G Cherone sounds a bit like chris cornell. the guitar playing is really tasty, not generic w@nk shred, but tasty stuff. Nuno and paul gilbert, for me, are 2 of the tastiest guitarists out there (in the rock music genre...)

My top favorite players are (in no particular order)

    - Zakk Wylde
    - Dimebag Darrell
    - Randy Rhodes
    - Nuno Bettencourt
    - Steve Vai
    - Joe Satriani

Zakk & Dime, phenominal players - but if I was truly to answer who I find listenable regardless of mood, Nuno wins hands-down. His solo album 'Schizophonic' was nothing short of genius imho.

Ah god, these guys bring back such memories.. One of, if not, my very first gig back in 92 or 93 in the SFX. I loved them so much back then, Nuno was my idol! Haven't listened to them in well over 12 years I'd say now, everything I have by them is on cassette.

The production on Pornograffitti is amazing. It still sounds fantastic today.

Must check out the new material although the Chris Cornell references are a little worrying.

well, musically it sounds nothing like current chris cornell thank god, but cherone's voice does sound a bit like cornell's though to me...

Just after giving it a listen, very impressed, guitar playing by Nuno is so fresh and original, unlike a lot of rock players these days.
