Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dobly 2.1 Speaker System?

    Hello,

Can anyone reccommend a dolby 2.1 speaker set? It's for a small room and ideally I just want two speakers, one either side of the TV and a subwoofer underneath or to the side. As I said it's a small room so I don't want to go for the whole 5.1 system, I just want some decent sound for movies etc.

    Thanks.

Do you have a budget ? What size is the room where it will live ? Do you already have a DVD player/TV or do you want suggestions on a complete setup ?

You could start with a 5.1 Amp but just connect a stereo pair of speakers and a powered sub-woofer. It's not going to be cheap but it will leave you room for improvement.

Harvey Norman do a full Jamo/Yamaha 5.1 setup from about 600 quid, you could hide the rear speakers until space permitted.

    Zen,

I have the TV and DVD player but will be looking to get a PS3 for blueray shortly. The room is 10ft x 11ft. Regarding budget, between €400 - €600 for the reciever and speakers. The problem is that I want to keep it all looking really simple so just wanted some speakers that would sit at either end of the TV and a small enough woofer also. I've seen a home cinema package that has the speaker and woofer size that would suit but I would prefer to have the sperate reciever.

    Thanks for you help.
