    Hi,

Let time slide on this and now in a hurry to get this sorted. We need an island extractor - as silent and powerful as possible. We have a pretty big open plan kitch / living / dining room and kitchen is right in the middle.
Less than 50 d/b's sound wise with as much extraction as possible 1000m3
    Help?????????

There's loads of these but they are expensive. Ours is the remote control DeDeitrich one.

Have you got your ducting in? What size is it?

Have you got your kitchen island units in?

I had to fit ours with the island units and worktop in because the kingbast of a kitchen fitter let me down.

    Thanks.

Whats the noise level like from yours?

No units not in yet. The suspending ceilings just going in so can put any size ducting we need in now.

Has yours external motor? It seems these are quieter than others.

    We don't notice it TBH.

    It's this one:
    http://www.dedietrich.co.uk/productmodel.asp?db=Hoods&productst=Designer&productmodel=DHD585X&loc=UK

Most fans require 6 inch ducting so you'll need to put in the flat eqivalent of this.

Make sure you put in battens to act as a mounting point for the hood, these are quite heavy.

The external motors (our original plan) seemed very expensive.
