    Hi,i know there has been already discussion here on Banking & Credit Institutions : Deposit Protection Scheme But it doesnt mention regular savers,are they not covered????

    Multiple and Joint Accounts
    All balances held in the depositor's name (including balances held in a joint account) together with any interest due will be aggregated for the purpose of calculating the funds owed to the depositor by the institution. Joint account balances will be apportioned equally between each account holder for this purpose and aggregated with any other balances held by that account holder.

    Then i find:
    The Deposit Protection Scheme covers:

    current accounts;
    demand deposit accounts; and
    term deposit accounts;
    held with banks, building societies and other types of deposit-taking institution regulated by us, but

    Ref:http://www.itsyourmoney.ie/index.jsp?1nID=93&2nID=96&pID=145&nID=385&aID=0#deposit

    Can anyone expand on this?
    Are regular saver covered/not covered?

    Regards,

    Kieran

    Regular saver accounts are covered under demand deposit accounts.
