Super8 to DVD or MPG

Hi Guys, My dad just dug out 3 super8 reels of film from his honeymoon (1972). He's never even seen the film due to not having a player to watch it on. But he's wondering if there's any way he can get it converted to DVD or MPG? Has anyone gotten this done before or can anyone point me in the right direction?? Thanks guys
