BT Ireland 24MB Painfully slow after 6pm

I recently upgraded to BT Ireland 24Mb connection from 3Mb. I get somewhere between a 17 and 20 Mb connection. I would guess it's related to contention and the others in your area all trying to use their shiny new speeds too. More people on it = slower it goes.
