Does anyone know where to buy coloured lightbulbs (red, green, blue) in Dublin?

Failing that what would be the best paint to make my own?

Try Peats or anywhere that sells DJ equipment/disco lights - they should have replacement bulbs

Of course. Don't know why I didn't think of it.

Just found out that Maplins on Jervis street sell blacklight bulbs if anyone is interested.

There's a store down the bottom of Capel St who specialise in DJ / PA systems, give them a try, just bare in mind it may be a different fitting from the standard light bulb socket.

Peats haven't sold lightbulbs in years I'm afraid. You could try Hickeys Lighting near The Brazen Head or there's a lighting shop on Capel street as well as another on Camden street.

You can paint your own with some glass ink and a sort of a resin type thing you get in a tube to form the outside lines. All can be bought in the art & hobby shop.
