Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    just wondering whats the new xbox 360 60gb like

    im thinking of downgrading from my elite to this xbox 60gb

    does the 60gb have hdmi slot
    ???

    Why would you go from Elite to 60g ? I thought the Elite was the best ?

    Was thinking of going from my Premium (pre-hdmi premiums) to Elite for the HDMI.
    Also, my 360 is f**king loud !! Would love a quieter 360 :(

    Is the HDMI really worth it? I'm currently using the component cable, as I'm using the HDMI slot on the HD TV for something else. Should I switch it around and use the HDMI for the xbox?

    Yes it has the hdmi slot. Reports around the net say it's a bit quieter.

    What sort of deal do you get these days when you trade in a 360 Premium against a 60G ?

    Surely a new 60gb box will cost you the same, if not more, than what you'd get for a second hand elite on adverts?

    So which is the quietest ? For me that the most important thing. Second is having hdmi.

    Guys. If I upgraded to a 60GB model... how much do you think I would have to pay trading in my Core 20GB ?

    Do you need a Mem Card to copy off your saved games ?

    I was thinking of doing that upgrade too .

    You would need a transfer kit thingy to moves saves and stuff, i think you have to ask Microsoft for one, or possibly buy one in Gamestop or something but I could be wrong about that.

    Guys. Done a bit of googling and ....

    This new 'jasper' cpu. Its not in the 60GB ! Not yet anyway. Now that sucks.

    Think I will wait for that.

    There are big rumours of a new 360 model over next few months fuelled by the fact MS havent re-stocked the 360 consoles that have sold out in Japan.

    Would that not be the 60GB SKU that's coming out everywhere now? They did the same in the US before the new one came out (price cut the 20GB model and clear out old stock).

    I think you're getting confused here...

    The 60gb 360 IS the new SKU.

    You want to know if the new SKU has the new 65nm graphics chips. Most likely they will phase it in gradually if it isn't in already.

    DO NOT downgrade from the elite to a 60 gigs.As it stands the elite is loud when you play games BUT when the fall update comes out,you will be able to install your games onto the 360...It will then be as quiet as it is in standby when playing games.

    Exactly like that.
    The noise generated by the xbox during "normal," play with a game is the DVD drive being accessed which activates the fans.

    When you play an XBLA game the thing is actually fairly quiet, installing a game will hopefully achieve the same.
    I'd hang onto the elite if I were you.

    I heard that the purpose of the Jasper was to lower manufacturing cost only. The 60gb models out currently have the same improvements to the hardware layout (front mounted chips or something or other) to reduce the chances of overheating. So really there is every possibility that the 60gb out now are the best build and its not worth waiting for the Jasper as the only difference is cheaper hardware cost. But who really knows?
