Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dance festivals...any good ones left?

    Now that Life has passed, and Solas, and Techfest, and Electric Picnic, anything left anywhere. And if not here, anywhere on the continent near a Ryanair airport?

    Anything really, preferably towards the minimal techno or IDM end of the range rather than 50,000 German trance fans jumping up and down to Tiesto in some hangar.

    Conor,

    I was talking to a few folks down at the picnic who told me planet love is on next weekend up in Antrim.
    Dunno what the tunes will be like but I'd say it's a very young crowd so you can expect plenty of pikie tunes and maaadoutofits:pac::pac::pac:

    Whatever floats your boat I suppose, not my cup of tea though...

    Did you make it into Fairyland at the Picnic?Now that's more my style, great tunes and a deadly atmosphere.Bodytonic quiite good too..

    Won't be madourrerits at PlanetLove in the North. The name is sullied down here by knackbags, however PL has been going for a decade up there.

    However, there won't be much in the way of minimal techno or IDM there... three trance arenas (more or less); Meganite and Q-Dance arenas, and so on. And Tiesto's playing the main stage the night before.

    No, didn't make Picnic at all, or Techfest in the above list. was just mentioning them as festivals that got good reviews. Went to Solas and Life though.

    A bit closer to home there is the Dublin Electronic Arts Festival over the October bank holiday weekend

    Heard about that alright. Luke Vibert, Chymera, Sunil Sharp, Laurent Garnier and, best of all, Model 500, amongst lots of others. Never seen them, but 'Deep Space' is one of my favourite albums and 'I Wanna Be There' an absolute anthem.

    we are seriously lacking in good quality dance gigs \ festivals in this country . i was @ techfest & the south planet love and have to say techfest was by far the best , proper techno & minimal & proper techno fans . for the price of a ticket to oxygen i got a wkend in amsterdam & went to dance valley which was a crazy session and i plan on goin back in november in which i can then travel by train to the i love techno gig over in ghent belgium .. its surprising how lil these trips can cost , the same as 1 or 2 good wkends out in any local city .. check out the link for line up for the ILT gig , i think its a crazy line up with a lot of massive names ... http://www.ilovetechno.be/2008/

    trance = **** !!!!! techno = :D
