Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I got the following as part of an FI

"Please submitt details of air extraction units / air conditioning units etc, including details of location, noise levels times of use etc, any potential impact on neighbouring properties should be assessed and addressed. An appropiate base line study should be carried out and submitted to the planning authority"

Any suggestions of what an appropiate base line study is, who should carry it out and what standard if any should it be carried out too?? Its for a small resturaunt, 1 cassette type a/c unit & extract fan from kitchen.

Had similar queary recently in FI. I used a fella from Cork (I will PM his details) and the planning came through 2 weeks ago. A 60 seater restaurant in a very small town.

Thanks Uncle Tom, I'm going to see the planner today to see what I can get away with, this is only for a 25 seat resturaunt!!

In the case of a small coffee/ sandwich shop ( seats 20 ) I submitted trade lit on the proposed cassette air con unit , with manufacturers declared noise emission values

Together with an extract from the New Metric Handbook was able to show that the unit noise would not be perceptible in urban setting general daytime background noise . That sufficed .
