Carzone add hits

    Hi i have a car advertised on carzone. When i check the add each day it can shows how many people have looked at my add. My car has had 744 hits so far and 1 call!
    The thing is if ur selling a car and not getting a sale u will go to a diffarent place to advertise but carzone seems to be giving me the highest amount of add hits. Strange thing is during the day it gets very few hits but after 12 i get allot. Is this carzone adding to add hits to keep cutomers on the site.

    Well technically what they're showing are probably 'pageviews'. Hits, strictly speaking are entirely different and count every file loaded on the page (the HTML file, all images etc.) - thus an inflated figure. It was an old trick used by site-owners/marketeers who wanted to impress in the early days of the web. I doubt Carzone have stooped that low.

    Adding false pageviews though. Mmmm... dunno. Maybe a lot of car-porn fanatics are night owls??

    Funny u should say that:) I removed my add to go with CBG and the next day some one had my car advertised for half its price. Only a e-mail contact. Carzone removed it. Usually the counter goes up approx 20 every night. I just dont trust anyone when it comes to cars

    why remove it to go with CBG? why not try both?
