    Hi guys,
Is it possible to cut a section of say 3" from a length of skirting already attached to drylined partition wall without having to remove the whole length ?
If so, what would ye use to do it with

    Thanks,

Easy enough to do with a little skill and some patience- I'd use either a good sharp tenon saw or a sharp handsaw (Bahco Barracuda/ Stanley Jetcut or similar). Mark the line and score it with a sharp knife to help with starting the cut and keeping it straight. For a beginner it might make sense to temporarily screw or pin a timber guide to the skirting and use this to guide the blade as you cut. You'll have to stop shy of the plasterboard probably, to avoid damage, just score the remaining fibres with a sharp knife or chisel.

Yeah, you could do it very quickly with a biscuit jointer set to max. but I'd still use handtools unless I had a lot of repetetive work to do.
