    Hi,

The missus is expecting again so we are looking at buying one of those space wagons. We are going to go for new.

Is there any time which is better to buy new cars.. i.e. end of mth/qtr..

I heard something about this before but I'm not sure if it was an urban myth.

January is the worst time to buy a car, everyone is buying the new plate.

The later in the year you buy and register your car the better the deal you'll get. But when you go to sell it later it'll be worth less as it's a looked at being a year older even if bought and registered in Dec.

With the state of car sales at the moment you may be better going 2nd hand on a nearly new car with manufactures warrenty left, there are good deals out there.

If you do decide to buy "in January", talk to your dealer now. You may need to order 8-12 weeks or even longer in advance to get one from the factory.

If buying a car to keep till it dies then late in the year is the best time to buy and register, you get the best deals.

If you're a new plate type of person then January isn't a good time to buy as all the people will have bought their cars in
November/December for January deliver so dealers have no need to give deals in January as they are getting loads of sales.
