Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Last time I used Ubuntu it was called 5.10 and to set it up on my laptop I had to type "linux vga=771" at the command line. Now I want to have a look at the latest Ubuntu but I don't see where I can type vga=771

Any suggestions apart from getting a new laptop?

    Cheers,
    Rob

Have you tried out the latest Live CD? Perhaps your laptop monitor is now supported.

Ubuntu is now at 8.04 and has very good hardware support as far as I've seen. What graphics card / computer do you have? As above, download the cd and give it a whirl.

Using Ubuntu 8.01 cd so modern enough. Its a Patriot 3005 laptop and have always had this problem with Ubuntu but strangely never with Freespire which is based on Ubuntu.
