    I find the guy from the Corona's has the most irratating whiney voice ever.

    Sounds like an old dog getting kicked.

    Who is your most annoying singing voice? :D

    Damien Dempsey.

    Chris Martin.

    The lad from the The Thrills.

    The 'Post-Mariah-Carey' - any over-inflected, supposedly soulful, warble. Too many contemporary examples to mention.

    Leonard Cohen - sorry, just don't get it.

    Liam Gallagher - great voice, used to like it, but if I hear another 'shee-ine' type vocal....

    Morrissey;

    Boring, Lifeless and way too melodramatic to be taken seriously by anyone other than depressed 15 year olds.

    Neil Young;

    When are his balls going to drop? He always sounds like a whimpering child, with a very nasal whine.

    Question to the person who posted this thread:

    Do people like that bloke in the bee gees or that lad out of the scissor sisters count? 'Cos I know that singing technique has a name but can't remember it, surely they deserve their own separate category for ball-splitting irritation?

    ==>Yeah, that sounds about right- bloody horrible.

    Yeah anyone from the "Mariah Carey" school of vocalists. And I know I'm gonna take flak for this but Bob Dylan, vocally, is a nightmare. Great songwriter but that nasally whine is like running fingernails down a chalkboard!!

    all those f*cking female pop singers now with that horrible british accent. I'd rather pour liquid nitrogen down my ear canal than listen to that shíte on the radio. They don;t so much sing as they do just talk. they should all be shot

    ==>A Morrissey fan I suspect.

    In recent years its become fashionable for feamle singers to sing in a child like voice. Within the last year there was an ad for Clarkes shoes on t.v., the singing in that advert was awful and yet it was indicative of what is popular at the moment, don't get it myself.

    The lad from the thrills cracks me up.. I literally burst out laughing every time i hear his pathetic voice.

    The pathetic lyrics really add to the affect.:D

    ==>No, I mentioned him earlier by suggesting that he and the fella from the beegees (Maurice?) be given a seperate category for falsettos.

    Oh yeah, 'Mika', thats the other one I was trying to remember.

    Ronan "through the nose" Keating
    Katie Melua (get on one of your 9 million bicycles and f**k off!)
    I know it's already been said but that t*at from The Thrills voice is like nails on a blackboard to me.

    That's absurd.

    I would have to say Amy Winehouse.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 417 ✭✭ZakAttak

    Yeah, Damien Dempsey (although he is sh1t) isn't that famous- certainly not in comparison to Winehouse.

    She is awful, she can only sing in one way- no range whatsoever.

    "I went to the shops and bought some stuff,
    then I had a cup of tea,
    and then I did some other boring pointless crap,
    blah, blah, blah,
    me, me, me,
    shove it in a song and call it 'everyday lyrics'"

    every single one of her poxy songs goes on like this, its not just her stupid 7 year old voice. I want to admire the girl 'cos its hard for women to get ahead in any industry- but jesus h. christ, can't she write anything even slightly good?
