Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Got a Dell studio 15 two days ago, very happy with the machine but just noticed this morning that the hard-drive seems to be constantly being accessed. I've had a look round the net and people seem to think it's an issue with Vista. Disabled Superfetch and that seems to have helped but it's still ticking away even when the machine is closed. Any ideas?

Mods, I've also posted this in laptops as i'm not sure where would be more appropriate.

Its indexing all your files for quicker searches. You can change indexing settings by putting "indexing options" in2 search field in start menu. This indexing will take a few days, just leave the pc on overnight to speed it up.

Thanks. Should it be still doing this if I've barely put anything on it though.

Yep, will take a few days. It indexes your Windows directories. Yuo can turn it off or change whats indexed in "indexing options"

If you haven't already done so i'd install SP1. My machine was continually accessing the hard drive till i installed a hotfix which was included in SP1. Can't remember which one though. This had been going on for a couple months.

I'd also consider turning superfetching back on, it really is a great feature.
