    How do you see yourselves women?

    Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate in the US, characterized herself in a recent speech as being a "Pit Bull with Lipstick." It would seem that she wanted to project herself as being a tough opponent? Other pit bull interpretations come to mind, in addition to being tough, not all of them complementary.

    When reading this thread, did an image of yourself or a metaphor that describes you come to mind? If you were giving a speech, how would you characterize yourself?

    Sarah Palin is agood looking woman for 44, and given the chance at a shot at her I'd be game. But only if she never mentioned politics, she's more right wing than Hitler, which puts her out of the running immediately as far as I'm concerned.

    Interesting question, OP. I certainly wouldn't describe myself as a pit bull with lipstick. (Whether she intended the comparison or not, she has frequently been referred to as such by the American media since her speech.) I'd probably try not to draw any comparisons, tbh.

    And I don't think the media has done nearly as good a job of portraying Sarah Palin as a right-wing nutjobber as she herself as done. She's more conservative than the McCains ffs.

    I think being against abortion even in the cases of rape and incest would suffice, nevermind the fact that she wants creationism taught in schools. But why don't you go over to the politics forum? There's already a thread on Sarah Palin there and it's a more appropriate forum for the topic than LL.

    Good question and it'll be interesting to see the answers hereabouts too. Good mental exercise to figure out how you see yourself or even more so in revealing how you would like others to see you.


    I'm always dubious about people who do that in public around strangers. You know the type, the ones that volunteer how great they are, tell you they're very intelligent, or insightful or whatever. Usually a good rule of thumb is to figure that they're the complete opposite.:D

    i'd describe myself as a big pink marshmallow with a little tough bit of marshmallow inside. I'm a bit of a softy with a big heart and I mostly hate confrontation but if you píss me off then you'll know all about it.

    Sarah Palin makes my blood boil. I read her political beliefs (I actually get to vote in American presidential elections so I like to keep informed) and I got to her beliefs on global warming - that it is not man made and I read no more!

    ^ Internet serious business. Sarah Palin is a right wing nutjob and in my opinion while expressing the views of Rome parish priests can be too, but then they have the good sense not to go around expressing those views too much in 2008.
